The Power of Portability

With a sleek 10.5″ x 10.5″ footprint and a height of 43″ (smaller than the average golf bag) the core design provides a vast amount of food/beverage storage while still leaving plenty of room for the other necessities one would need for their outing or adventure. With a built in power supply and multiple power ports not only do you have the storage options for your electronics, you have the ability to maintain their function or add-on your favorite 12v devices.

Inside and Out

The functionality doesn’t stop on the inside. With external mounts for attaching accessories, a collapsible 18″ table, charging ports, lighting and retractable cup holders the Column Cooler’s external functions are just as important as it’s internal features. Adding in multiple wheel mount options you can move from the parking lot to the beach in a matter of seconds.

Not “Good Enough”

We see every day how people take the ordinary and make it their own. This is at the core of the design and construction of the Column Cooler. All too often, modern products are constructed and designed in a “good enough” way. Although when new they appear shiny and sturdy, we often find after just a few uses the initial passion for a product quickly fades. The flaws in a design begin to become a nuisance, the construction methods begin to fail, and even more importantly, our ability to take a mass produced item and easily make it unique to our individual style and needs is nearly impossible. Plus, who would want to put time, money and effort into customizing a product that is flawed and only “good enough” from the start.

Once it was decided what was needed functionally from the Column Cooler I began to think of ways to make it more than just a place to keep my “stuff”. I wanted to create something that wasn’t disposable, that wouldn’t fail me after a few uses, that would allow me to dream of new uses, customize the exterior appearance and have the built-in ability to make it all happen with ease. I found my inspiration by thinking about products people happily invest their time in. Products they hold dear. Products they would never consider disposable. In fact, quite the opposite. What these products had in common was that they were all solid and functional products from the start. They were well built, worked and lasted beyond expectation and the companies assisted in and encouraged their customization.

I did not look only to the cooler market for design inspiration.

I looked to legacy American manufacturers whose design and customer partnerships have endured because of their dedication to quality in all areas.

The Column Cooler is a product unlike any other in the portable cooler market. It provides an all-in-one solution for modern day outings and has the huge potential to create a never before seen niche in the outdoor/leisure market.
