Introduction

The Column Cooler is a vertical portable cooler, storage container and electronic smart hub. This design, which can be manufactured through a variety of ways as well as in varied heights and widths, provides an easily transportable personal recreation/utilitarian hub. The Column Cooler, the largest model comparable in size to an average golf bag, is able to house and protect a users personal items, provide charging and storage for personal electronics, batteries, removable wheels, smart phone controlled internal/external lighting and positional sound system, cool and insulate food and beverages which can be monitored with a digital temperature and humidity application.

External Features

Functions of the Column Cooler exterior are multiple marine grade charging ports, retracting cup holder, collapsible table system, external lighting and additional axle points for large diameter removable wheels. Tie down rings can be used to secure an umbrella, flag pole or similar item. Through the use of snap, strap and tie down points on the exterior frame, additional storage areas can be utilized. Storage Capacity

Although use by consumers will vary, below is an example of the prototypes storage capabilities. Cooler section are described using standard can and bottle sizing for a familiar referencing of the scale.

  1. Bluetooth audio system
  2. Dry storage and 12v charging compartment.
  3. Upper cooler can accommodate one gallon liquid bladder, 12oz cans or traditional 16oz water bottles (9). Upper cooler can be combined with lower cooler for a joint capacity equal to one case of 16oz cans.
  4. Lower cooler can accommodate 16oz cans (12), traditional 16oz water bottles (12) or 12 oz glass bottles (9).
  5. Storage for electronic modules, main battery, external netting and 6″ removable wheels.

Technology

The Column Cooler houses a built in sealed battery system for extended charging power for portable devices, Column Cooler specific accessories and the built in bluetooth controlled lighting, audio and internal temperature monitoring systems. Users have the option of internal/external marine grade USB ports and an external 12v car adapter plug system. A digital volt meter keeps the user informed of how much charge is available in the column and when it comes time, charging the unit is as easy as plugging into standard wall socket or using a compatible solar device.
